What is a By-Product?

A by-product is any material generated as part of the industrial, operational, or business process that are not utilized in the end product and which cannot be sold and used for its originally intended purpose. 

By-Products managed by Heritage Interactive Services include:

  • All types of regularly generated waste
    • Hazardous
    • Non-hazardous/industrial
    • General refuse
    • Universal (batteries, light bulbs, etc.)
    • Recyclables (plastic, foam, cardboard, wood/pallets, paper, glass, ink cartridges, etc.)
    • Scrap metal (steel, iron, copper and all others)
    • E-scrap (electronic components, computer equipment & peripherals),
    • Product (off-specification, end of shelf life or returned) or documents for destruction
    • Materials from parts washers and related cleaning devices
  • Episodically generated waste (from normal maintenance clean-ups, remediation or other projects, facility closures, unused chemicals, etc.)
